How to link preview text to the the full story ?

How to link preview text to the the full story ?!
Today we have only the "Read more..." and linking the headline to the full text.
Is there another way such as the above?!

You can link easily to any story from inside any content. Simply display the story , copy its URL from your Browser's address bar and paste it as a html link in your preview text or wherever you want it.

Thank you Chris, But what i'm looking for is linking automatically the preview text to the full story By changing the core files.

Can you explain this? I'm a bit dense & have no idea what you mean if you're not talking about the 2 methods mentioned in your first post.

What I mean is to make the preview text itself as a link to the full story.
example:

try look into content.html.php or 'wrap' ur preview text with a link to the full text. either way, if u have links in your preview text, i believe it will mess up the links... read more is still my preference it's neat and it does what it says
