Exclamation Mambo vs. Joomla vs. (?????)

First of all I'd like to know what is preferred more Mambo or Joomla based portals. I know they are pretty similar but I personally had some problems with pages loading right in Joomla. I want to know if anyone else has experienced this. Also I want to know what other Mambo based packages exist out there and how good are they. Should I just still with the latest stable release of Mambo?

Yes, Joomla is new, and that's the problem. There is a huge install base of Mambo based sites. When it works people don't want to move to another application unless the current one doesn't answer their requirements anymore.

My take on it is that there is a lot of excitement around Joomla right now but the bottom line is about how many users of Mambo vs. Joomla. Tough road ahead for Joomla to prove itself...

The other thing i needed to add, was that Joomla has a lot of add-ons (modules / mambots....whatever you wish to call them) and have heaps added regularly.

I also like the template range available

we host thousands of websites based on Mambo or Joomla. Both tools provide great capabilities and are excellent solutions for creating and managing a website. Recently, more customers choose Joomla before Mambo. Developers say Joomla code is clearer and more understandable than Mambo's.
