Default Robert Castley

What a good chap Robert seems.

What would be great to see in the future is for the Mambo community ( or any other Open Source Community ) to arrange an annual collection for those less fortunate.
Any one else up for doing this? I am!

Yes indeed, a very nice guy and still leading by example.

To keep this alive and official, should we ask that the core team manage this.
The good cause can be different each year, and chosen via a community poll.

I'm in for this too.

Don't they have enough to do re managing Mambo, if they just endorsed it and supported/promoted it.

Maybe we could build a site, I would be happy to host it and ask Robert to act as treasurer?

I just thought it would be good/better 'Public Relations' if driven by core devs, and it would only be once per year leading up to xmas anyway.

I agree about good PR I think they should be involved just questioning thier drive time. PlusI would love to help get this going asby thesound of it would you.

Maybe there could be additional PR for others, donate say $5+ per month and they get supporter status. $10+ per month and its sponsor status, Silver, Gold, Platignum etc and get mentioned in the site.

People like to donate to something so maybe year one is set but people can vote for year two.

I like the idea of the charity ship that opperateson blind people.

Do you know Robert and any of the core that this could be floated with?

I would be happy to reg a domain and host and help build working with others as part of official team for this, it would bean honour.

I don't want to handle to money though and think Robert would be ideal to do this.

Keep us informed.

I can't speak for Robert, but I think he is looking for a vacation from Mambo. Accepting responsibility for the funds would be like going back for seconds after he just cleaned his plate!

I am confident that the community is strong enough and aptly capable to handle the project...even without involving the dev team. We all know they have more than enough on their minds and there are many brilliant folks that would love to get more involved and help out in the community.
