Top module displayed with search results. Why?

Hi,

One of my mambo 4.5.0 sites always displays the top module when viewing search results or editing content from the frontend. Why?

My top module content is a welcome set up only to be displayed on the frontpage, so it seems rather silly that one need to scroll past this intro just to see the search results.

My other two sites with a rather similar setup displays search results on a "clean" page as they should.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
