Random image in Content

We are big fans of joomla/mambo, but have run into a slight issue with inserting random images inside the content (with the text wrapping around the image as in a magazine or newspaper article). We can do this manually, but we have hundreds and hundreds of pages, and adding individual images would take a looong time. we would rather have a module inside of the content section that could pull random images from different directories. For example, all pages related to ABC would pull random images from the ABC folder of images. And all pages related to XYZ would pull random images from the XYZ folder of images.

Is there an extension that exists for this?

Perhaps you have found the need for a new extension?

You can find hundreds of javascripts that will allow you to randomly load images based on locations.(in fact an example is here)


and building an extension or mambot can be a great learning experience.

You could probably start with a template or simple mambot and learn how to customize it to your needs.
