Did you try deleting your cookies, clearing your cache and restarting your browsers?

Are you using IE?

Do you have a software firewall (e.g. ZoneAlarm Pro, Norton Personal Firewal)?

You can't think of anything that changed between the time that you last successfully logged in and when you could no longer log in?

It's not dangerous to use IE (well, not with Mambo anyway, other sites might install spyware/adware without you knowing, but that is another topic), it's just that IE can be funny about caching sometimes. One suggestion is just to try it with a different browser if you have one handy.

I can't think of any reason why your backend login would suddenly stop working. What components did you install the last time you were logged in, maybe that will help track it down.

This happened to me when I installed a search engine friendly URLs component. My solution was to always attach the "index.php" to the end of the URL. Ie... http://xxx/administrator/index.php

Hope that helps.
